Rider Airbags Ltd (the company) holds and processes personal data on behalf of its directors, shareholders, staff and customers (individuals). The company is committed to protecting the rights and privacy of individuals in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

Who Is The Controller?

The company is the controller for the purposes of data protection law. The directors are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal data about you. The directors and staff process your personal data on behalf of the company.

 

What Type Of Personal Data Do We Hold About You?

You provide information as part of company administration or your purchases. The company requires this information in order to perform the contract it has entered into with you.  Specifically, the company uses the information provided by individuals for the legitimate purpose of the administration and governance of the company including sales, records, accountancy, administration of product recalls and issuance of service reminders. The company will maintain a customer contact list. The information is held securely on computerised databases and/or in hard copy format.

 

How Do We Use The Information?

Your information is used to maintain company records and to process trading activities. 

 

In completing purchases, you are consenting to the company sharing your information, only to the necessary extent, with third parties providing services essential to the running of our business, e.g. payment processing, website hosting, postal / delivery operators, administration of product recalls, etc. or as required by law. Personal data is not shared for marketing or commercial purposes. The company also processes and maintains information to meet its legal responsibilities. We are legally entitled to process your personal data because it is necessary to do so in order to process your purchases, and because it is required in order to comply with our legal obligations. These are lawful processing conditions under the legislation. If the company wishes to share your personal data with any other third party, it will obtain your consent before doing so. The company may use images to publicise our activities on social media and its website.

It is the responsibility of individuals to ensure that the personal information held by the company is accurate and up to date.

 

How Long Will We Retain Your Information?

We will retain your information for no longer than is required to fulfil our obligations. Specific periods for retention of information can be found in the Policy.

In brief, we will retain most information required to administer the company and its events and trading activities for a period of 6 years following the end of the financial year.  Some information will be retained for longer periods, e.g. names & minutes will be held indefinitely for historical records purposes. 

 

Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • To obtain confirmation that your data is being processed, and access to the personal data which the company holds about you.

  • To request that the company corrects any personal data found to be inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Where there is a dispute about the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing.

  • To request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for the company to retain it.

  • To request that the company provides you with your personal data.
